Well sense I have to pull my motor I'm going to go ahead and do a tranny swap putting an automatic in replace the 4 speed any special tranny I need long or short shaft c6 of coarse and also putting in power steering as well any advise thanks
2wd or 4wd? That makes a big difference. If you're going through the trouble of doing an automatic swap, I'd do an overdrive auto trans and find a controller to go with it. (since most overdrives are computer controlled) that will make you gas mileage go way up.
As far as the steering, I'd swap to the later type of steering with the saginaw gear box, instead of using the power assist ram type.
Well she says it now but we will see how it goes lol I have a good 76 f150 2wd with an automatic with a rotten frame I thought bout just swapping everything over has the 351m tho big power loss from the 428 any opinions there good idea bad? Motor is basically new
i've only had one motor in my truck: fe390. it's been rebuilt too many times to remember. i wish i could recommend one or the other but i cant. i know it beats up on all my buddies rigs with small blocks chebbys
then gets whooped up on by my brother in laws 460 but atleast its another ferd
i personally go with the 428. horsepower seems to solve everything
I that would probably end really bad that and I don't think she could handle the clutch not to easy in the city with a lot of stop and goes
AH! I'm a 19 year old girl that just bought herself a 74 with a 360 and 4spd on the floor. I've only ever driven manual in my dads 18 wheeler a couple times. This was a completely different beast. I live in central florida and drove around downtown orlando on only my 5th day of ever driving that truck, or even any manual. She can do it!!
My left calf will be bulging in no time
