Ok, I have searched and found a lot of Thread about the o/d flashing problem and I did almost every thing I can think off , but couldn't fix it . The truck works perfectly fine until o/d flashing for seconds then.
Starts to slamming 1st and 2nd gears and some time it died on me
So i scanned it and got p0722 , p0720 , p0503
And what I did is
1- change transmission oil with filter.
2- new sensors over the trans case .
3- new speed sensor in the rear differential.
4- change rear differential oil .
5-fix the gear shifter exposed cables.
6- check all fuses.
What to do next .?
The X is my daily drive for work.
i had something like that in my 2006 fx4 O/D light flahed along with trans fault message on display shifting was all rough through 1st 2nd..mechanic cleaned a connector on the tranny with brake cleaner i cant recall what it was tho.. think it was nuetral ground connector or something might be completely sperate tho, We didnt get into scanning it for codes..
You did change the output speed sensor from what I can tell from your description. That at least was in the right direction. Everything else you did is as useful to fixing this problem as cleaning the windshield.
Since the output speed sensor is new I'll assume it's good. Now you need to check the wiring between the sensor and the PCM. Any problem with the wiring, either open, short to power, or short to ground, is going to cause P0722 and P0720. Same for the wiring between the vehicle speed sensor on the rear axle and the PCM, and the P0503 code.
Since you have two sensors that have issues, a good thing to check is the ground path from the wiring harness to the chassis. A good wiring diagram will show where the ground points are. I don't have one of those.

I actually did cleaned the differential connector with electrical fast dry cleaner.

Do you have pictures for the ground wires locations.? And where is the PCM .
Because mechanics just wants me to rebuild the transmission . Very expensive unnecessary fix.
Took the x to a transmission mechanic and I told him what you say .
Check the ground paths to the chassis and check the sensors and connectors , exposed wires, to PCM .
