Intermittent Brake lights

Intermittent Brake lights
Hi guys,
Daughter has a 01 F150 SC. Problem is intermittent brake lights.
I checked them yesterday morning -15C out. All lights worked. Moved steering wheel tilt & still lights worked.
Daughter takes truck to work last night & maded it into town 15min & no lights. She worked 4hrs & came home still no lights working.
Im wondering with the cold weather & now running the heater, if there is a fuseable wire or relay that is getting hot & causing the issue?
Used truck & we dont have the manual. What wires or relays/fuses can I check, meter to find the problem. This is her first vehicle & she drives at night, dont need her in an accident or ticketed for no brake lights.
Just hate when it works when Im testing it & not for her. Hard to trouble shoot aswell if I get the right voltage readings.
