Ford C6 weird problem. Please help
I hope you can give me some info, and a possible fix.
I live in South Africa and recently bought a C 6 dominator from PATC in the states with fairbanks shiftkit programed to level 2. We installed it into my Ac Cobra replica running a 351 c. Just to note that all shifter cables, Kd linkages , vacuum lines, fluid level,etc have been checked and re checked, and is all to spec.
Originally the transmision pulled off in second while in drive, and manual,shift didnt work properly, so I had the the VB out and found a couple of stuck valves.. I was told that it was probably the govenor, but to get that out, i need to remove the whole transmission, dont realy wanna do that. So after the VB fix, this is what happen now.
1: Park is good and engage easy
2: reverse is good and engage easy
3: neutral is good and engage easy
4: drive is good, shifts through all 3 gears, up and down, firm shifts, Drive doesnt engage that good though, i often have to shift into 2nd then up to D, once in drive all good.
5: 2 nd manualy shifting into 2 nd, doesnt do anything
6: 1st manualy shifting into 1st shift the tranny into 2nd gear
So basically
In D it shifts up and down normal 1-2-3 and downshifts 3-2-1. To get the transmission in D I have to shift to 2nd and then D, otherwise the transmission just stays in Neutral.
Then while in D , in 3rd gear, and I downshift to 2, nothing happens, and then when I downshift to 1, it goes into 2nd.
Also when I shift the transmission into 1st, in the stationary posision and I pull off, it pulls off in Second, not first, when I manually shift to second, it stays in second, and manually shifting to 3rd, goes into 3rd ( D)
I paid alot for the transmission , and cant afford too much more, im trying to fix with the tranny in the car, i mean its brand new, im trying to claim some costs back from PATC.
Is there anything else i can try, will the Vacuum Modulator affect this problem?, thats probably and easy thing to swap out and try.
Any ideas?
