I was getting some light clunking from the front end during low speed maneuvers. I believe I've traced it to the front sway bar bushings, which look pretty worn and one of them has a slight crack. I checked on rock auto and I saw sizes listed between 7/8" and 1 3/16" in 1/16" increments. I meaured it with my calipers and it seems to be halfway in between 15/16" and 1"
The truck is a 1989 F250 XLT Lariat, Heavy Duty, 2wd, Supercab, Longbed, 460, ZF5.
Any brands you would recommend for the bushings. I was considering the Raybestos. Any experience with those? They don't need to be high performance, just something durable that won't be squeaking 2 years from now. I also was thinking of replacing the end links while I'm at it, since they look worn as well. Any brand recommendations for those?
One more question: Can I take the sway bar and end links off without jacking up the front? The truck will be on level ground in a garage.
Look at Energy Suspension Polyurethane bushings. I think they sell a kit with new bushings for the bar and the end links. They will be much better than rubber ones.
