I saw a platinum in person last weekend and to say I was not impressed is an understatement!
The tailgate is hideous. The platinum badging on the side of the bed is way overkill. The new grille looks worse than the standard lariat grille. The chrome door handles look like cheapo plastic. The mirror caps are chrome?? Not painted to match like everything else. PTM bumpers are about the only improvement on the exterior I saw.
The interior offers nothing over a lariat except "platinum" stitched in the seats. I was misinformed originally by my dealer. I was told the My Ford Touch was going to be an upgraded version over the one in my wife's Edge Sport. NOPE, same thing.
No hard drive (jukebox) in the radio. No actual buttons for things like heated/cooled seats and other controls that are used often. Most everything is a "push button" on one of the pages on the 8" touch screen. It's a multi-step process just to turn on the heated seats and play a song. I wasn't really pleased with this discovery.
The tailgate now houses the new Ford emblem with backup camera underneath it. The emblem sticks off the tailgate roughly 2". It's hideous as well.
I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting but that's most of the stuff I saw.
After seeing a 13 in person, I believe I'm going to pass on one period. Hopefully GM makes some serious improvements to their 13 being released in a few weeks....
I will be really pissed if there isn't a hard drive, at the moment I have a 2011 kr and 1300 tunes on file. I won't give that up. And I love my nav, if its changed as much as you say maybe ill keep what I have.
But a Chevy truck is not going to happen!
From the sounds of things, I'm very happy I have what I have. I hate the menu system and have since BMW started the whole nonsense with the idrive system. A huge step backwards in ease of operation for the sake of the esthetics with less buttons. Not a worthwhile trade IMO.
All models with nav will be the same my Ford touch system
Not cool ..... I love my Chevy car but didn't think I'd have to resort to tradin in my ford truck for a Chevy, I think the world really is coming to an end!
I ordered a 13 Platinum this afternoon, all the goodies. Tuxedo Black and blk interior.
I believe that you can load music onto a SD card and plug it into the radio system. I could load most if not all of my iTunes library onto a 32 gig card. It's not a hard drive but close I think.
ok first question, andrew: u sellin ur truck?? lol that thing is one bad *** rig!!
second question makes me feel like a complete idiot... our trucks can hold music?? how do u download songs haha i had absolutely no idea about this... i thought i had this truck figured out

Do you have the nav unit? If so, go to "media", then press the jukebox button on the screen. To upload songs, insert a cd into the radio, it will pop up with a "record" button. Hit record and it will upload to the hard drive.
I have no idea if the non-nav trucks have this or not.
