Kobalt tools used to be made by the same mfg. of Snap-On & Williams tools. Now Kobalt tools are being made by Danaher Tool.
Danaher also makes Armstrong, Craftsman, & Allen tools.
Lowes sells Kobalt tools. Right now Lowes has all of the "old" Kobalt tools are on clearance to make way for the "new" Kobalt tools. Last night I bought 10 different sockets for 75 cents each.
They had 1/4" 3/8" & 1/2" drive SAE & metric available. If you have a Lowes near you it might not hurt to check it out. Kobalt tools carry a lifetime gaurantee.
I recently purchased a tool set at Sam's Club,to just keep in my truck as i travel for a living, its a 158 peice Crescent set for 58 dollars,Crescent always made pretty good adjustable wrenchs & pliers so i thought i couldnt go wrong with just having them for a back up encase something went wrong on the road.
Since then ive used them on several things & come to find out they are alot better quality tools then i thought, the ratchets are real good & strong & have xtra teeth on the gears,i cant remeber how many but in other words, they dont need to turn far at all for a return turn on the bolt.
I even used a few sockets(when my impact sockets werent within reach, lol) on the 1/2" impact, they held up great on some seriously "bad" bolts.
It comes with a real nice fold out case, perfect for keepin in the back of my broncoII without taking up hardly any space.
Maybe y'all should check this out too.
Happy wrenchin Fella's
