Interior Parts Interchangeability

i have a 05 excursion eddie bauer and was wondering if the panel from a 07 f250 with the upfitter switches and brake controller would fit. I would like to do the high idle mod and install a brake controller and figured this would look the best...suggestions? part #'s? thanks in advance only problem i see is the adjustable pedal switch might have to relocate in the new panel

Dunno.

But you can get one of these from Clay at Riffraff Diesel, which I do know will fit!

This is not a simple bolt in, plug and play. The upfitters are not too bad, but the ICB is a whole new level of fun.

The 05-07 Upfitter switches and integrated Tow command will fit in the cubby in your 2005 Excursion with some very minor trimming behind the dash. That's the easy part. In order for the brake controller to work you need the correct PCM and your fuse panel will not have the plug in module for the tow command. In addition to that joy, you will not have the tow command (or upfitter switch) wiring harness preinstalled in your truck, they were only wired in the SD's. Wiring can be done for the upfitter switch retrofit into the Excursion as several have done it in the past. No different than adding any other powered carling switches, you just need to add a fuse block since the Excursion fuse block is different than the SD's and doesnt have the 4 fuses.

Onto the ICB.

Once you get the correct PCM, the fuse panel, relays and the tow wiring you get to move onto the next joyous part of the mod. You need the Super duty master cylinder since it talks to the tow command through two separate pressure sensors. Instead of only having one wire connection on the bottom, the new one will have two. The Excursion's got a different master cylinder than the SD's did, most likely it is just a carry over from the previous years. Run the second wire back to the tow command relay harness.

Finally you will need to go to the dealer to have the instrument cluster reconfigured since they need to enable your newly installed integrated factory brake controller to receive operating information. The ICB uses, speed, RPM, brake system pressure, ABS activity, and transmission information and needs to be configured to relay this info to the PCM and ICB.

5C3Z13D730AAA - Upfitter switches
5C3Z2D113AA - **** for brake controller
5C3Z14A303AA - Harness for controller
5C3Z2140HA - Master cylinder
5C3Z2C006AA - Integrated Brake Controller

This is what the wiring harness looks like.

Aux-1 Circuit No 1936 wire color: Orange/Lt. Green [30amp]
Aux-2 Circuit No 1933 wire color: Orange [30amp]
Aux-3 Circuit No 1934 wire color: Orange/Yellow [10amp]
Aux-4 Circuit No 1935 wire color: Orange/Lt. Blue [10amp]

I hope you try it, I don't think the tow command has ever been retrofitted into an Excursion. A few F250 guys have done it but they were pre-wired for a lot of it.

Thanks Stewart! I looked into this for my X and had it filed away. Glad I kept all my notes and stuff to keep helping people out!

Nothing like a cold dose of reality to wash away a dream, eh?
