Tim, did guys do this on '04 and older trucks? The instrument clusters are very different between the '04 and '05 SDs, but it's the same with the Excursion.

I'm guessing generally this is only a mod that the 6.0 crowd could do, since I suppose a PCM for an '05 truck 6.0 could work with an Excursion 6.0. But since the '05 SD had the 3V versions of the 5.4 and V10, I bet those PCMs won't work with the old 2V versions.

I have seen the upfitter switches on Super Duties all the way down to 2000. The IBC I have only seen 05 and up. Its touchy with the in 04/05 X's vs the SD's since they did not get all of the upgrades the SD's did.

Any X or SD can do the upfitters, you just need to do some trimming on the lower dash to accomodate it unless its an 05 then its a drop in for the SD and the X requires a small amount of trimming behind the panel. Something to do with the foot pedal control or something. Not 100% sure since I didnt have an 05 so I dont have any hands on experience with the differences. Its not plug and play, but its no worse than wiring up any set of switches.

You should try it! Ill be happy to give you all the tech support I can. For your 05 it really is just wires, relays and such + the master cylinder of course which is what, 4 bolts?

Thanks Tim! I really have no use for the upfitter switches (my dad has them in the 450 and they aren't used for anything), but I LOVE the IBC. Granted my Prodigy isn't bad at all and I have it mounted in the same place, but the IBC would be much cleaner and it is a much better system if it would work.

I was thinking about this for when I get the swap done. So we're talking a 7.3 PCM and master cylinder.

What is the tow command? I thought the high idle mod would require a wire fitted into the pcm for an excursion?

I'd be interested to know if the '04 and '05 PCM are the same in the SD trucks. In the Excursion we would still have the '04 version so I'm not so sure we could get the IBC working. I'd love to see it done, would be very cool. I've been looking at something like this for the brakes. Main downside I've heard is that if your ABS ever kicks in while towing, your trailer will still be braking as hard as your foot is on the pedal.

It would be easy to find out. Maybe our Mod, Stewart can contact one of our tuner vendors and ask them what revision the following trucks pcm's have. They mess with pcm's all the time.

04 X
05 X
04 F250
05 F250

Another thing I though about was if it would be possible to take the internals out of a Prodigy BC or other brand and mount it in the ICB housing. Should be pretty easy. Then you just run a BC plug to the factory installed BC adaptor under the dash and you dont have to worry about PCM, master cylinder and all that stuff. Just a ground and a plug. I am 99% sure I can do it.

What would you gain from doing this other than the appearance aspect?

Im interested in putting the integrated controller in an ex as well, so if someone pulls it off, please post the info!

That is probably what I would do. In fact when I was looking at doing my gauges I had thoughts of pulling my instrument cluster apart and gutting out the stock trans temp junk and installing the aftermarket gauge guts in the factory location.

I spoke with Clay from Riff Raff today about his F-650 dash. No way to put a brake controller in there from the factory but suggested i use a prodgidy(sp?) brake controller with his dash kit. I am now thinking maybe of building a center console kid of like in the 08 and up and mounting in there and doing the riff raff dash...hey that could be a cool song name...:/

This is what Clay is talking about.

You can see the P3 brake controller in the pic attached to the bottom left of the dash unit.
