Sennix, when did the DPF rule take effect, seems like July 2007 was the date. All diesels built AFTER that date required DPF. The truck in question was built in may of 2007. if the effective date was July 2007, that truck would not need a DPF.
Alot of this and that. Basically Ford choose the MY 2008 trucks to come out early (2007). So they all came with th DPF.
Also of consideration is Kalifornia..we know they wanted it. Check the sticker under the hood. It will have the emissions certification right there with what it was built with.
window sticker indicates it was sold wit 50 state emissions on it. I suggest you speak with your inspection people before the purchase on this. My determination is it is missing the dpf and the emissions stickers as well.
Additionally it would have to have a tuner on it in order to operate without the DPF so that is another piece of the pie.
Have them put in on the computer with you there and see what happens. Tell them you need or want to see if it has the latest calibrations...you wish to see it in action.
but if it was built prior to the law going into effect, emission compliant would mean no DPF???? sales manager said he was driving it to ford to get clarification and the light on dash came on "CLEANING FILTER".......WTH
My 08 was built Dec 22nd 2006 an it has as DPF folks. It was sold to the first consumer, as I am the 2nd, on April 7th 2007 so All 2008 models and up were required to have the filter. I have one of the first Job 1's built so the actual build date is irrelavant as it is all about year it was intended.
k yall gonna laugh or kick my a$$ if you ever meet me.....dealer guy said since he is a RAM dealer, his mechinics didnt know what to look for. so he drove to FORD mechanic there took this pic and had sent to me
