I can't read it worth a darn.

I couldn't read it very well but it seems that part of the report is missing. They tried to do a cab off and the tech said 3 bolts broke off, then when he got the cab off three bolts broke in the turbo. Then he says something about going to straight time and the thing just ends in mid sentence. The interesting term on the report is CUDL: "this vehicle has a closed CUDL contact". What the heck is that?

senix 11-28-2012 08:44 PM

CUDL is a term for when the customer calls Ford Customer Service.

IDK, I usd a magnifying glass to read it and still can't get all the words. Seems they were doing a cab off to rebuild the engine and had some bolt issues then "re assembled and" and then it just stops. Where is this truck, I'd wonder about three bolts breaking in the cab off and then three more on the turbo. Was this truck under water or what. i mean it's only 5 years old the bolts shouldn't be frozen like that.

The cab bolts are heavily coated with locktite. There are "cage nuts" on top that are easy to break loose. When this happens, you have to access the nut, whether it be under the carpet or behind the rear seat.

OK, that makes sense, the tech on there said the cab bolts were "frozen", I guess that's what he meant, then he said 3 turbo bolts were snapped off and he drilled and tapped. At least that's what I think he said. Are the turbo bolts prone to berak off? just seems strange to me but then I have zero experence removing 6.4L turbos or cabs.

There's 6 bolts holding the pipes to the turbo. It'll be those. I've used heat many times to get those loose.

hahaha....dont i feel dumb.....no im here....just been super busy fighting with these people from the dealer. this is making my f450 experience a pita....

the truck has no DPF and no cats.....they swear up and down i dont need them cause law went into effect 2008. the truck was being built in 2006.5-2007. how could it.....but i have my local dealer telling me i need it.

i think its time to just walk away.....but i so so like the truck....but no reason to buy a headache

senix 11-29-2012 04:48 PM

Model year 2008..needs...is required to have the emissions stuff. Them selling it without is illegal...Tell CARB about the truck...
