Diesel average exceeds $4 again

By Kimberely Lennard, Land Line staff writer

The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports the national average price of diesel at $4.034, a rise of 5.8 cents from a week ago and 7 cents over the same week last year.

Although the Midwest region saw a spike of 11.4 cents for the week ending Nov. 26, the New England and Central Atlantic regions reported the highest price per gallon at $4.203. The Lower Atlantic and Gulf Coast regions remain below the $4 mark at $3.990 and $3.902, respectively.

The price of diesel as reported by EIA for each region is as follows:

U.S. – $4.034, up 5.8 cents
East Coast – $4.092, up 4 cents
New England – $4.203, up six-tenths cent
Central Atlantic – $4.203, up 3.2 cents
Lower Atlantic – $3.990, up 5.5 cents
Midwest – $4.023, up 11.4 cents
Gulf Coast – $3.902, up 3.7 cents
Rocky Mountain – $4.057, down two-tenths cent
West Coast – $4.115, up 2.1 cents
West Coast less California – $4.070, up 3.2 cents
California – $4.153, up 1.1 cents

ProMiles, which surveys diesel prices daily at 9,400 truck stops, reported diesel prices at $4.054, 1 cent lower than Sunday and 5.9 cents above this past Monday. Connecticut again saw the highest price nationally at $4.499, and Missouri checked in lowest again at $3.805.

In separate energy news, midday trading in New York showed light sweet crude oil prices at $87.70, a drop of 58 cents from Friday and $2.03 below the previous Monday. Light sweet crude is the type most commonly associated with diesel production.

Don't worry Neal, Pelosi and her gang are already trying to revive the "Low-Income Gasoline Assistance Program Act" to help qualified low-income individuals reduce their monthly fuel expenditure.

So, don't work and you can qualify for:

1.) subsidized property taxes
2.) subsidized electricity rates
3.) subsidized telephone rates
4.) free cell phones
5.) free medical & dental (medicaid)
6.) free food (stamps/card)

and coming soon to a health and human services department near you....

7.) free gasoline

Pickens was just on TV saying low fuel prices are a thing of the past period. He said Tar sands is the future and it is exspensive to mine and refine. Love these oil guys don't you.

But, but, in just a few more years we are going to be self sufficient when it comes to fuel.

That is probably just because fuel is going to cost so much and a lot less people will be buying so there will be an abundance.

The administration voted in thinks raises taxes is going to rejuvenate the economy. Why don't they understand that if the average person wasn't spending $100+ a week for fuel, they would have more money to pump back into the economy?

This is why there are so many more people looking for a handout now.
