Tryed pulling some codes

I was curious as to why my transmission shifted so nice then went right back to normal after the tps change. I also heard that the early e4ods will not flash the over drive light when there is a problem. Mine was not flashing.

Here are the code results:

26

TOT out of self test range. My guess is this is due to me having the truck 3 days dead cold and not warmed up.

23

Closed throttle TPS voltage higher or lower than expected. Was going to adjust it more anyway.

Continuous codes:

62 converter clutch error
This sucks... It does slip at 35mph.

67 neutral safety circuit failure.
I looked this up and it needed to be in neutral and not park and that was the cause.

the TOT sensor out of range.it failed or the wire going to it in the pack is making a poor connection.
you won't get this code because the fluid is cold.the sensor will just tell the pcm it's cold based on resistance values.

so what i would do,is look up which pin on the pcm harness and the solenoid plug, and ohm out the wire,to make sure it's all good.if this wire doesn't ohm out 0 between the pcm pin and pack plug, you can run a new wire and pin it in.personally,in this case,id question the rest of the wires, and buy a new harness.
then i'd figure out a way to test the sensor with an ohm meter (if i didn't find a brake in my wire.) i guess id unplug the pcm end,and then probe the pin(s) needed here to check the tot resistance values,or maybe even probe into the wire/pin itself at the pack plug to make sure the tot is bad.if so,then id swap out the pack with a used salvage yard one if funds are low.-just as long as you test all the solenoids first or at least get a few day return policy on it.personally id go with a rebuilt pack online.
this all done after i would double check the condition of the pack plug, and made sure it was spotlessly clean with electrical cleaner, and coated with dielectric grease.

in another thread,we know your TPS/FIPL settings are off and should be tweaked better.but don't forget this code will be set if you don't hold WOT with the idi engine.

Resistance/Continuity Tests Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor

Set ohmmeter to 1000-ohm (k) scale.
Connect ohmmeter positive lead to TOT+ jack.
Connect ohmmeter negative lead to TOT- jack.
Record resistance. Resistance will vary with temperature.
Refer to the following chart.

TFT SENSOR RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS Temperature Resistance
°C °F (Ohms)
(-)40-(-)20 (-)40-(-)4 967k-248k
(-)19-(-)1 (-)3-31 248k-100k
0-20 32-68 100k-37k
21-40 69-104 37k-16k
41-70 105-158 16k-5k
71-90 159-194 5k-2.7k
91-110 195-230 2.7k-1.5k
111-130 231-266 1.5k-0.8k
131-150 267-302 0.8k-0.54k

Thanks, yeah i know the tps needs to be fixed. Gonna do it tomorrow when i throw the new alternator in. I did hold down the throttle. Well with a block of wood but it was full throttle.

I'll do all the checks you suggest. I'll get a new / rebuilt pack if it is needed. Thanks a ton!
