I was in Daytona for the Turkey Run On Friday, and spent about 4 hours looking around. This was the fifth year in a row,and each year it gets bigger. There was every car, truck, bike, vendor, and swapper you could imagine. Many cars and trucks for sale,no real bargains.Prices at the swap seemed high. The show is way to big for my taste.Afterward I went up to the Beal Plaza,For the unofficial show.Lots of stuff on display, many for sale. But again very crowded, and not any fun for me.I would much rather be at Truckstock. With all Daytona has to offer it can't compare to the enjoyment Doc and his family provided.
I was at Turkey Run Thurs - Sun, my 17th consecutive year. Yes it gets bigger every year. I drove my newly overhaulled 1952 F1 there from Ft Lauderdale and clocked 640 miles total, I also did a lot of crusing around up there. I only had about 45 miles on truck before I left, so it was a good shake down run.
I didn't even take any pictures.Just wasn't into it at all.To many hassles, from parking to ticket lines,no place to sit down, people going every direction,if you stopped someone would run you over,I am getting old I like the slower pace shows and swaps.

I've been to places like that. If I'm not really enjoying something, I just don't care to document it. On the other hand, I've enjoyed a few events/places so much I didn't think to get out the camera.
I agree with DR. It gets crowded, this is my first year I drove my truck and it was a lot better as you could have chairs and tents in the show area, ie a place to sit and talk with others, there were also shuttles to anyplace you wanted to go. Also for show cars you can get in at 7 am which I did every day when it started to get crowded around 11, I was usually done and would go sit and relax.
I thought seriously about going to this one. I've been to the Spring version a couple of times and all I heard at that one was how it wasn't nearly as big and nearly as good. At the Spring event, there were hundreds of motorized "scooters" all over the place and I nearly got run over several times; it explained all of the "hash marks" on the sides of the scooters. I was just hoping that they didn't get bonus points for somebody my age/size.

Bryan,
Saw your truck which looked great and left you a note. Sorry I missed you. This was my 39th consecutive Turkey Run...
I feel like I sinned by pulling out my old tired flathead, but with the new motor, AOD trans, disc brakes, posi and A/C, I hate to say it but I had a whole lot more fun driving up there, crusing around there and then driving home. I guess I need to change my profile picture as that is what my truck looked like before the makeover you saw. I drove the heck out of that old flathead for 11 years.
I took some pics but my hands were full of junk I bought so I didnt take too many. This is a dark side truck but I have the Ford Version of this dumper so I figured the conversion company might be the same. I was wrong, its a single ram, mine is a dual. This one was for sale and was driven to the show.
