400 Offset Ground Crank

Does anyone have any experience offset grinding a 400 crankshaft. I have offset ground several in antique farm pulling tractors with good success. However they only turn a couple of thousand RPM and are just used too pull a few hundred feet down the track occasionally. I have read that the 400 crank will have to be "rehardened" after grinding. Does anyone have any real world experience with this?? If so, what about going just under 2.100 from the stock 2.311??

Tim Meyer already does this. He uses a windsor style crank and it ends up a 434. Full rotating assembly for around 2k (check this as I may be out), but not bad as you get the right rods/pistons etc. dont know about hardening.
