Headed back from the Oregon dunes yesterday with the fifthwheel and I started to develop an issue. When pulling a long hill I start to get a what feels like a miss and sounds like an exhaust leak. After I peak the hill it seems fine. I have an HPOP guage and that looks ok, oil level is up, fuel pressure is at 60 psi when stopped, can't check it while driving. EGTs seem to climb faster and boost is about 5 psi below what I think it should be during the issue. My truck usually peaks at 25psi when pulling hard.
Haven't had a chance to hook up the AE tool to it but it didn't generate any SES lights.
One other thing was strange, after one stop when we started the truck again I had no speedo and the trans OD light was flashing. Once we came to a complete stop off the freeway the speedo worked and the OD light went off. I think the that issue is unrelated to the miss but maybe not.
Speedo is the sensor on the rear axle, happen to me. Sounds fuel related on the miss.Only because its going up hill, no fuel no boost. I would think electrical would do it all the time. How much fuel did you have?

Maybe its time to go through the fuel filters, I know I had enough fuel in the tank. This problem was pretty consitant from Portland to home. Wish I had a fuel pressure guage in the cab to see how the pulls affected it.
Ordered up the water sep filter, main fuel filter and the rear abs sensor from horizon ford. If the weather holds out today I should be able to get these swapped in pretty easy. Guess I should go for a test drive to see if I can replicate without the 5th wheel attached so I don't get a false confirmation things are fixed. Can't be much worse than heading out for a camping vacation and the truck doesn't do its job.
Replaced the water separator last night and was definitely a problem. I guess that had been neglected for way to long or I got some bad fuel on the trip. Going to be looking at some options on getting that fuel pressure gauge visible from inside while I am driving.
Also replaced the rear ABS sensor so time will tell if that resolves the speedo and OD light issue I saw.<O></O>
