I finally got my replacement lifters in the mail about a week ago and they've been in the motor since. Ever since then, I've only got two lifters that will allow oil to the top of the motor. The #1 exhaust lifter and the #6 intake lifter at the other side of the motor.
The rest of the lifters won't oil. All of them pump up.
Is it going to take a while for these demonic POS lifters to oil or do they need to be pulled? I have the money right now to burn to get a set of 12 new lifters, but would rather check and see if these will do the job or not.
The install procedure calls for the lifters to be soaked in oil (they were pumped up straight out of the packaging, but I soaked them anyway), then dropped into the lifter bores. Put in your push rods, line up your rocker arms, and then tighten all of the rocker arm nuts to 17-23 ft-lbs and you should be good to go. My truck has the positive stop rocker studs, and it doesn't call for any lash adjustment, so they were installed correctly.
Brand new rocker arms and push rods. All of them were checked before I put them in with the new ones. They also went back in the same way they came out to keep things just like they were. I blew threw each one and checked them.
The old worn out lifters oiled like the BP oil spill.
I have had to run some engines about 15 minutes before the oil made it to the top, so if you haven't run it much, I would let it go and see how long it takes, I think it will eventually make it. You pre-lubed everything on assembly right(rocker sleds) so it will be ok to run for a little while with no oil supply. You can take a oil can and squirt some oil on the rockers while they are running if you are worried about it.

This is the consensus me, and a few others have come to about this motor, but I still wanted to check with you guys and see what you guys had to say.
Everything was lubed up on assembly and all that jazz. I took the fresh oil that I had soaked the lifters in and filled each one of the rocker arms.
I guess I'll run it until I find a problem.
If anyone else sees this thread and wants to weigh in, please do. I'm open to any suggestions.
