Ford does this for a reason, so the driver sees it before they run into something with their roof! My factory antenna has saved the roof of my F350 sssssooooo many times its not funny, everything from a drive through to parking garages.....
I cut off several inches and the antenna is still higher than the cab of the truck. If that's the purpose of the long antenna, then they should shorten it closer to the actual height of the truck. If it is 5 or 6 inches higher than the cab, what good does it do as you will not pay attention when the antenna hits the overhead obstruction. The antenna was hitting beams that had 6' 9" of clearance. The height of the truck is around 6' 4". It seems excessive to have that much difference.
I was in the parkade at the cornwall in regina today. every time that antennae hit the cement roof i was nearly having a heart attack. had to get out and see how much room i had!

Agreed, some things are best left alone because there is a reason it is made the way it is.. But it does **** me off when it hits in the garage, now it's lifted so can't park in there anyways, I say lift the truck higher so u can't park in spots that would allow u to hit it on anything to begin with......
