Unhappy electrical problems...

hey everyone! Im new to the forum. I just purchased a 1999 ford F250 superduty super cab lariat. here is my list of problems so far with it. The display on the roof that says the mileage and what ever else its supposed to say doesnt come on, cab light does not turn on when the door opens or when the dimmer switch is turned on, the screen on the radio doesnt come on either. The illumination light on the inside that lights up the switches works but not the display that says the time or the station. those are the only problems i have found so far. If anyone knows how to get these things to turn on It would be great if you could give some advice to a new ford truck owner. I did check the fuses and I am missing the fuse map, there are no blown fuses so thats what brought me to the forum. looking forward to any help this wonderful forum could give me.

The fuse map is in the owner's manual. If you need another copy, you can download it here:

In addition to the fuses, note Relay 1 is labeled Interior Lamp Relay

How did you check the fuses? The look at it is not the best way.
Get a DMM and check the resistance it should show as a short
ie 0 ohms. Then put on lead on a ground point and on voltage
you should get 12V on one side of the fuse socket the other side should
not have any voltage but may have some do to the way Ford does some things.
Also look up under the dash behind the fuse panel and look to see if it has gotten
wet and/or any fuzzy green stuff on the wire terminals.

F250 1999 Diesel - Electrical Problems

Couldn't find where to start a new topic / question so posting on to this thread.

Posting for husband:
1999 F250 7.3 Diesel having electrical issues this am. Wouldn't start. Truck was jumped, started. Going down the road, windshield wipers came on for no reason, no spedometer, no gas gauge, the overdrive button on the steering column started flashing. Stopped at wife's work and left truck running while going inside. Truck died while inside. Now it won't start at all. Taking off alternator to have it tested. Anybody know what the electrical issued might be if alternator test ok?
