Oil filter Replacement
Does anyone know a source for a replacement oil filter for my 49 Merc. The engine is the original flathead and the oil filter that was in it was a FRAM C-184 which measures 4 1/4" in diameter, 7 7/8" in height and has a 1/2" center bore. I've tried to order from Mac's and NPD but they both list a shorter filter for the 49. I contacted FRAM but they no longer show that part number in thier listings either. Any ideas?

as unbelievable as it is , i get the ones for my 52 from oreilly's . they got 'em on the shelf . must be a lot of vehicles use that particular one or they know i'll be in more often than not ............ and they're wix not fram or some generic booger .................
