Cool looking system, thanks for posting, gonna have to come by sometime, and check it out, I will have a weekend available soon to help you if you wanna, I am always looking to learn something new, I will be "upgrading" my turbo soon, can you explain what led you to take out the 38r, and install this setup?
Phil
It was largely a financial decision, since I had already bought the T4 kit before the X broke. I was able to sell the 38R and up-pipes and have enough $$ to get the S366 and the injector cups, etc I need to fix the truck.
That said, I have towed A LOT and often spend 12-16hrs a day with the hammer down out on the road. The 38R is absolutely obnoxious in the noise department. With an open-element air filter it just SCREAMS - all day long. At low boost, it sounds like a vacuum cleaner and at high boost it screeches like a coach's whistle. For someone who doesn't drive their truck often or seldom goes on long trips (like the guy who bought the 38R from me) - its not a big deal. But, I recognize the added fatigue of ANY extra noise and realize I can drive further and more safely by reducing the decibels in the cab.
I am off the whole weekend bro. Got a place for me to sleep and shower? On edit, the google maps shows 4 hours to get there. I could drive the truck and bring some bang, bang. The 5.56mm kind of bang bang. Fri, Sat, Sun off.

Yep, we got ya covered. I was just about to leave you a message! I'm going to town tomorow at lunchtime, but don't plan on leaving the property again all weekend.
are those the OG HPOP lines..time to upgrade huh?
Hey, those lines are 'seasoned'!!! They only have 360k miles on them.
I actually started to buy some new ones back when Barney's failed, but everybody else did too and Clay was out... Maybe I'll swap the ones from the X engine that only have 270k miles over to this engine! I'm so broke I can't even pay attention right now. Since you've jinxed me though, I'll pack the other set in my tool bag and keep it in the truck.
Looking Good Jason !! I am looking forward to hearing that S366 works out for you. Since I too can't stand the sound of a screaming turbo I'm wondering how loud the S366 is going to be?? That thing looks like it has a small turbine house compared to the compressor side. By just looking at it, it looks like it will spool pretty fast.
I hope all goes well this weekend and you get the EX running. It has been awhile since you have drove it. How long has it been down?
And Schlepprock you have some eagle eyes... good catch. I didn't even notice. So Jason I think keeping spares and a gallon of oil in the EX are in order. And please keep the photos coming !!!
