skipping 7.3
What is your location?
What is your oil level on the dipstick?
how much fuel is in your tank?
How many miles on your truck?
How many miles since you did an oil change?
Are you running a chip or power adder?
Is your truck stock?
Do you have a CEL(check engine light) or SES(service engine soon)
Have you done the 50 cent mod?
If you are running a chip.....can you go back to stock easily to troubleshoot?
Does it only skip at Idle or is it skipping at 70MPH going down the interstate?
Is it skipping at a particular RPM under load or not under load?
If you place it in neutral and raise the throttle from idle does it do it at higher RPM's unloaded from the transmission?
The way your idle works is by resistance of a Throttle Position Sensor(TPS) that sends a signal to the PCM. This resistance is only if the Idle Validation Switch(IVS) is not being contacted by the gas pedal. When you push on the gas pedal and the IVS is no longer making contact then the PCM knows what resistance the TPS is at and as the resistance goes up it changes voltage and voltage goes up and the PCM gets that voltage signal. If the TPS has any dead spots on the resistor then the PCM does not know what to do.
I am just telling you how your gas pedal works to help you. It could be ICP, IPR, TPS/IVS, EBP sensor, We kind of need more information as to wether it is right when the truck starts or does it do it all the time hot or cold engine? How many times does it happen over what period of time? Be diligent and observant.
