Turbo install

Hi well I been doing tree work lately and my work truck has been sitting and i decided to bring my truck to a guy that works on big rigs and he said he can install it for me since i dont have any time right now but he needs directions so he can charge me accordingly so can anyone help me out with steps with installing?

Also this is for the 6.9 and should I get the 7.3 ATS turbo?
Much appreciated, Conor

Not sure if this helps, but here's the Owner's Manual for the Banks Sidewinder unit. It includes detailed install instructions. I would imagine the steps needed to install a turbo don't vary a ton between the different kits out there, so this should give him enough to get a rough idea as to what is involved:

you can't buy a new ATS system, as they no longer support the idi.so if you find one of these, you'd have to buy used and make sure it has all the parts,or you'll be searching for used parts all over creation and be down for longer than you'd probably like.
hypermax and banks still offer turbo kits and parts.i bought a used banks (current model still sold today) called up banks or looked online (combo of each) and was easily able to buy any missing parts and had them shipped right out.

I make some good money but hard work so hard that I'm only doing high $$$ tows for my own company.
We try and not work hard but thats not always the case but our 80 ft spider lift that I pull everyday with a powerstroke made me decide to really get a turbo i don't think i can go back to non turbo power lmfao

Since you are looking at used, the Ford factory turbo system used on 93-94 is essentially the same as the ATS system. Ford bought the design from ATS. The factory downpipe is known as a choke point, I think Banks still sells a larger diam pipe.

The same system works on 6.9 or 7.3, same basics for the external engine. You will be quite happy with the upgraded turbo engine.
