No, really though... One of my first posts here was about the black smoke I got when I romped on the pedal, especially from a stop. It was explained to me that it was caused by the pedal commanding more fuel to the injectors than they could combust, so it was leaving in the form of black smoke. I was also told that if I didn't see that black smoke when I romped on it, I should be concerned. (Also had a diesel mech at American Diesel in Mississippi tell me that when I stopped for service in the middle of a cross country trip.)
Well, with my new '06 f250 I don't get the smoke. I've romped it as hard as I can after reaching operating temp and can't make it smoke. Just had three injectors replaced and it runs way better and has a ton more power, but still no smoke. Should I be concerned or is that okay?
Several of the other guys here have advised us to "drive it like we stole it" every now and then... keeps soot from building inside the engine, I think. For the most part I do drive it easy, but every now and then I enjoy the power :-)
