Coolant Filter Help ?

Hey y'all I'm wanting to build a coolant filter like shown on Guzzles site. After my 3rd water pump in 100k + i am hoping it will help pro long the pumps life.

I read up on the build and install looks like a quick mod and hopefully well worth it.

My problem is getting all the parts together. I ran all the CarQuest part #s from Guzzles site through the CarQuest web page only to have window motors and such pop up. Can any one give me a location weather it be CarQuest, NAPA, or Advance to get all the parts, and part #s for the ones below.
1. Filter Housing
2. Filter
3. Diamiater hose to use and what type ( coolant hose, fuel hose, heater hose, vacuum hose etc)

Thanks Guys and Gals

I faced the same problem you are having. For only $126.xx to my door I got a complete quality kit from Diesel Site. I had priced out some of the stuff from local parts stores and it came to $80 ish plus time, fuel, and I still hadnt found some hose fittings. The extra $40 I paid was well worth it to me. I went to work for a few days, and it was waiting for me at home when I got there.

Travis, Thanks for the info... i don't have a fleet pride near me but will try to run the part #s from the site.

If anyone else chimes in with part #s from NAPA or CarQuest would be awesome. Really wanting to tackle this tomm if possible. Just hate going into town unprepared

The napa filter mount is part number 4770.

The napa coolant filter is 4070.

The hose size dependent on the size of hose barbs you put on the filter mount. I think 1/2" is the size of the mount but you can adapt that up to use 5/8" coolant hose.

doesn't the International pump have an internal filter? any advantage to going with an external setup? I am about ready to do a coolant change, and trying to decide what I want to do, external or bite the bullet for an International pump..

Advantage to external is that you don't have to swap out the water pump if nothing is wrong with it. Also some might want to avoid the mods required to install the IH water pump.

I was not aware of the modifications required to run the IH pump.. Sounds like external may be the way to go..

It is not a bolt on replacement. Plus it might be hard to find in a remote area.
There is another thread on the forum now, worth checking out.

COOLANT FILTER FITTING SIZES

I AM GOING TO START COLLECTING THE PARTS TO BUILD A COOLANT FILTER. WHAT SIZE IS THE FITTING THAT GOES IN TO THE HOUSING JUST BELOW THE THERMOSTAT. MINE HAS A TEMP. SENDER IN THE HOLE FOR A ADD-ON TEMP. GAUGE: SO I WILL HAVE TO INSTALL A TEE FITTING FOR THE SENDER TO GO INTO THE TEE ALONG WITH A BARBED HOSE FITTING. WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE FITTING BEFORE DRAINING DOWN THE COOLANT.
