Trans. Seal
The transmission in question is a 1949 heavy-duty 3-speed in an F-2. What I need to know, is the part number for the rear seal, and any numbers for obtainable equivalents.
Thanks in advance!

Seriously, thanks for the number. Been thinking about the manual for awhile, but I've spent so much this summer for all the parts I have already dumped into Gertie, that I really can't spring at the moment (last check the damage was approximately $2600 and growing since June).
And yes, I know the CD is pretty inexpensive, but I really prefer to get the paper version. Although I spend considerable time on my PC, I just like paper for manuals and technical publications.
When it is cold out and the weather is bad, I often retire to my electronics bench in the basement to restore vintage radios. The Holy Grail for schematics and data for these old devices is a series of manuals (Rider's Perpetual Troubleshooters) published from around 1929 to 1952. Comprising 23 volumes in all, you can get the set on CD for little cost. I have an original set (sans three volumes) that covers about 5 feet of shelf space.
Just prefer paper to bits and bytes.
I promise though, when I build up my truck war chest again, I will get a Parts Manual reprint.
