Transmissions power capabilities?

Transmissions power capabilities?
What kind of power will my stock trans in my 51 Ford F5 handle? Would it handle a diesel engine's power/torque? what about the rest of the drivetrain?

Which transmission do you have in your F-5? There were three options new: 4 speed crashbox, 4 speed synchro, 3 speed heavy duty. The 4 speed synchro is a T98 which was used behind big block V8s. The stock rear axle is probably good to go for whatever you can fit under the hood, but is probably geared really low.

Your Truck was built to haul heavy loads, day in, day out - If you're going to drive it as it was intended it will handle the power/torque of the deisel engine

I believe my trans is a B-W t9, as it is a un-synchronized 4-speed trans. does anyone know if it would handle the power of a IH dt or d360 diesel? if possible id like ta keep the stock trans, but if it comes down to it, im not afraid ta replace it.
