I have a 2010 F-250 Lariat. After it is running a while I hear a ticking noise that seems to be coming from behind the Dash. I shut down all accessories but it still contunues. It lasts from ten to twenty minutes then stops. Anyone out there have this happen?
Do you have any thing acting strange? Most likely it's a relay that
is making the noise or maybe the blend door if it over to the passenger
side. Under dash sounds are a pain in the @$$ sometimes. Get some to
drive while you look and listen around. If you can get a good location on the
sound then someone can maybe tell you just what the things is that is
making the sound.
Nothing strange going on. Is the blend door activated electrically or by vacuum?

Does it just do it after start up? You said it quits after 10-20 minutes. Might be thermal exapansion of something like a metal heater pipe sliding through a plastic bushing. Like the old radiator tick in houses.
Any luck on solving this? Having a similar issue coming from my passenger side, sounds like a boiling noise or gargling noise. Does it with ignition on, HVAC off, motor running or not...

The stuff in red could be the A/C refrigerant that you
are hearing. It will make that type of sound as the coolant turns to vapor in the
coils. The only other thing would be (and this is a BIG MAYBE) a localized
hot spot in the cooling jacket of the engine and your hearing the coolant
boil (NOT VERY LIKELY)
See the highlighted box? That is the expansion valve. Some times it's not really
a valve but more of an orifice the liquid refrigerant will evaporate into a vapor
and equalize the pressure and that can be the sound that your hearing.
I really am not doing the best job on the A/C 101 class here. If I got you to a point
where you are understanding it I did my best. If not let me know and I will try again.
