'03 Explorer H/U replacement help
Hello and thanks in advance for the help!
I have an '03 Explorer Limited w/Factory Subwoofer/DVD system and the head unit isn't cutting it anymore. I have replaced head units on other vehicles ('02 Honda Odyssey, '97 Honda Civic) but everything that I've been researching has been telling me that the DVD system will be lost if I replace the factory head unit. Now, I've seen threads on here that speak of Excursions and Expeditions, but none of Explorers. I'm assuming that most, if not all, of the wiring is the same. However, I'm looking for semi-specifics on what I need to do to keep the DVD system working. I've seen a couple threads that are outdated and provide outdated websites with wiring couplers/adapters, and I was just wondering if anyone could supply me with up-to-date websites and information as to how to do this myself.
There are a few shops where I live that can do the custom wiring, but I'd like to save some money (and have the bragging rights) by doing it myself. So, if there's anyone out there with some current knowledge, it would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to try Car Alarm, Car Stereo, Mobile Video, and Cruise Control Info for Installers, they have a forum on there that you can see if anyone else has tried the same thing you're trying or if they have done it before for someone else.
