So I winterized my '88 E250. Oil change, verified good coolant and SCA levels, replaced radiator cap, aired up tires, all new GP's and repaired the block heater plug. Since this will be my daily driver it will see the snow/salt. Took it to Ziebart to have it rustproofed and undercoated. When I picked it up th guy asked me if it was from down south because he couldn't find any rust on it. He said it was cleaner than most vehicles he does that are 10-15yrs newer. I got lucky because the people that had it before me only used it to pull thier travel trailer on summer vacations. The rest of the time it was stored in the garage. Since the plan is to drive it for another 400k miles, figured I should try and keep the body from falling apart.
Auto Anything, decent site, just always want to bend me over on the shipping (Canadian). But I've not seen them anywhere else, going to try at my parts store they tend to be able to get the most obscure things.
Ever since I did a coolant flush this summer my engine temps are crazy low. I have to lay on the throttle with a trailer up a hill to get it to hit the R-M range, it idles at the Red line on the left, and under normal use barely hits the N. Which was great in the summer, she ran like a champ when we were getting 110F weather when my buddy's Jeep with a Hemi was starting to get to hot from trail riding, mine was purring along. It's starting to get colder now and it's having a harder time getting the temps up already. So a cover I'm thinking is a must.
