Hey guys. I'm sure its probably been posted a million times, but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for with the search.
99 5.4L replacing the drivers side manifold.
When it comes to replacing the manifold nuts and possibly the studs, do I have to get special studs or nuts?
Do I have to get Ford studs or can I use the Dorman ones at the local AAP?
If I choose to reuse the studs, do I need special nuts?
Thanks!
Use Stainless steel bolts with a locking key/washer. Sumitt sells them and no more rusting out issues, think they are $50 or less for the whole engine.
If you are talking stainless bolts & nuts, just check the alloy #. Most are Chinese, or at least somewhere in that direction, and most are 303 SS. The higher the last number, the better. Tops at 306 I think.
