I've never used those and haven't read any reviews on them. They did peak my interest at one point but I'm pretty happy with what I'm running now.

I really like the ones under the door. That is worth investigating to do for sure. front and rear doors.
Has anyone noticed that the lighting is really lousy in the back with the rear hatch open? The rear hatch is a really prime place for lighting the ground an the interior cargo area.
One thing I really missed from when I had a Lincoln Town car years ago was the lights under the dash. They Illuminated the driver and passenger floor really nice. I will be adding that this winter too.
The under door and hood lights were a pretty easy install, I can tell you they light up the area pretty well... I thought about under the dash too but with the LED's in the cab I don't see really needing them.
This is what I'm doing now... I already completed my Interior and Running Boards and they are great. It just takes a little while to get the bulbs from China. All of these were ordered via eBay.
*note- when installing the leds in the third row it blew #41 10A (red) fuse which also controls the radio, map lights, vanity lights… I replaced it and had to re-set the radio.

How much work is it to tap into those wires in the overhead console? Just replaced all the other interior lights in my X with LEDs, but when we went to remove the factory bulbs from the overhead, as pictured above, when we twisted the factory bulbs to remove them, the green & copper ribbon cable you can see in the pic completely disintegrated around the bulb socket (I guess from being too old & subject to heat). I have an alternative replacement solution that consists of 15 LEDs on a circular disc not much bigger than a quarter (similar to those shown above, but closer in size to the rectangular ones), that I can glue or ziptie to the original bulb cage, but I would like to retain the factory switches & wiring, so it still looks OEM & auto turns on when you open the door & turns off with timeout etc. So I need to tap into the existing wiring. It would be clean if I could just unplug the green & copper ribbon cable from the black connector shown & either get a replacement plug (or more likely just cut the ribbon cable super short) & then solder the new LEDs wires onto the new plug or remnants of the super short ribbon cable. But the ribbon cable didn't really want to unplug from the black connector, or separate from the console for better access. It would be kind of a pain to have to remove the whole overhead console just to get at 3 wires (driver light positive, passenger light positive & common ground), but will do so if that's what's necessary.
Basically what I am asking is if there is an easy way to tap into the existing factory wiring & switches, preferably in a clean & reliable way? The red & black wire in the above pic disappear into the roof above the console. Is there an obvious / easy spot to tap into if one removes the overhead console?
Anybody know where to find reliable good quality LEDs? I know there was a thread last year where at least one person was having the cheap bulbs die. Something like these look interesting for the backup lights.
For $100 you can get 2-10 watt super bright led lights! The led replacements for the center console are to directional, so i added 2-1 watt mini leds...

I did't splice into the consol for the dome light. The wires you see on the round LED's go straight into the plug where the stock lights were located. The rectangular LED's you see are spliced into the overhead consol but I have those on a separate switch. I did that for fun and used red LED's. Looks pretty cool at night.
That being said it shouldn't be too difficult to splice into or solder onto the copper ribbons. Mine were in pretty bad shape and I ended up replacing the light portion of the overhead consol with one from an Expedition I believe. Same light compartment. Overhead console is held up by one screw in the sunglasses compartment.
Well I made a few orders and just have to wait for it all to come in I also came up with an idea that might work out VERY well. If it does I'll make sure to post up pics!!!

Do share with the class... What is this idea you speak of?
