BAHAHAHA. I offered 18k and they came back at 20350. i cant see spending $1500 over blue book
I am going to ask you the same question I have asked other people here in several discussion threads. Why would you even consider paying $18,000 to $20,000 for a 2004 stripped Excursion (little to no options) with 22,000 miles .......when you can buy a 2003 Limited 4X4 V10 with 56,000 miles for $12,995? Somebody, sooner or later, might be able to explain this logic to me hopefully!!

I wish I could find one by me for that price. That is in mint condition. everything here that is cheap (under $14,000) Has like 90K miles. VaSheriff where are you located? your looks super clean.
Edit: Va as in Virginia? Lol. If you were closer I would jump on it in a heart beat.

Reason: Edit
Biggest difference between an XLS and an XLT is the standard front 40/20/40 seat, the lack of body cladding and the inability to add options when ordering.
The XLS is also chosen on the order sheet to decontent the truck. Like to remove carpet, add vinyl seats, add steel wheels, etc. This truck doesn't appear to be a stripper. My 05 was an XLS...no cladding, 9 passenger...but everything else an XLT has.
I had a guy from Williamsburg, Virginia catch a bus one day not long ago to come and buy my Excursion. I picked him up at the bus station. He looked at it, test drove it, and offered me $8,000 in cash. He had the money with him in $100 dollar bills. In trying his best to lowball me, he suggested that I would not leave him stranded without a ride back home. I told him I sure wouldn't, that I was much too nice for that. I gave him a ride back to the Greyhound station.
I had told him the price was not negotiable before he came.
They aren't worth THOUSANDS more than what KBB shows for full dealer retail.
Not specifically talking about your vehicle Sheriff, but just pricing in general.
And if you watch around here very closely, we always tell people that an Excursion is overpriced, any Excursion..... even when it's priced thousands below KBB.
KBB says full dealer retail on my Excursion is $20,182 in excellent condition. And although I have only been asking $12,995 lately, people are tossing $7,000 to $8,000 offers at me.
We have to stop telling people that NICE Excursions are overpriced. We're shooting ourselves in the foot when we do it.
there is a very nice XLT V10 4x4 with 26k here asking $16,000 which i still think is high but not out of the world high. 2003 Ford Excursion, 4x4, 25,000 miles
i think there are better deals to be had.
I missed your reply somehow.
If I was looking for an Excursion with low mileage, I would easily pay the $16,000 for that vehicle. Even if if is only an XLT.
This is another prime example of how we all shoot ourselves in the foot by talking the prices down.

There has to be a happy medium though. In good conscience the vehicle the OP listed is not worth what the dealer is asking. I am not inclined to tell the OP he should go buy it just so my truck can sell for a bit more. If the OP had shown your truck at your price I personally would have told him to buy it. If the OP had shown my truck for your price I likely also would have told him to buy it. But that's because I believe they are priced right for what they are.
I think you are being a little to arbitrary saying we are shooting ourselves in the foot. I mean ask yourself this- Can you tell the OP the truck he listed is worth the dealers asking price and feel good about it?
In a few weeks I will have 2, 2000 V10 limited's for sale I am in the process now of debating what to sell them for. When I look at KBB and look at the papers the prices are all over the place, even I can't tell what to sell them for.....
Oh and btw the guy who offered you 8k, he's just an idiot, unfortunately there are more and more of them everyday.

i agree, i have overpaid for low miles before. not a TON but a few K over book just because its very low mile. i would have no issue paying $15k for the one i listed and be very happy about it. hell i sold my '04 with almost 100k on it for $14,500.
another example is a '00 explorer EB v8 awd thats loaded with 40k miles on it. the dealer that has is has it over priced at $10.5K. i would love to have it but i feel a fair price is $8k cash out the door. if they ever come to there senses i'll buy it.
Not that this applies to the XLS Ex, but when I bought my 02 F350, location and mileage made the little higher than book worth it. I bought it in feb 2009 with 17,500 miles and it had a barely used 7.5' Western Ultramount plow. Plus it was on the island, so I didn't have to ferry it in, or fly to get it...
I am looking at a 2000 v10 ex now with 69,000 miles... Plus a Whipple supercharger... I might sell my 2005 6.0 Ex with less than 40,000 miles to get the supercharged v10...
