ATF DIPSTICK

The dipstick tube on my 2001 F-350 automatic trans is flopping around like a wet noodle after a repair job at a shop where they had to remove it. Checking underneath shows the tube just sitting on it's O-ring in the pipe that goes into tranny. I tried to push it down without using too much force but it didn't seat. Because I break most things I touch I thought enquiring here before I push too hard might yield some helpful hints. Thanks

Is the tube bracket bolted down correctly under the middle bellhousing bolt on the passenger side? The bracket is held to the tube with a few spot welds that could have broken loose.

It is either not bolted to the trans bolt, the bracket is broken off the tune or the tube itdelf is broken.
