80E has considerably more power than 60E for stop and go traffic that is nice if you need to do some darting around you had previously not dreamed of with your stock truck. However, 60E gives me better fuel mileage than 80E when I am behaving myself. I debated a little whether or not to get a 100 performance tune and decided against it. I do not regret it. As for the towing tunes, 80 is for 5,000 to 9,000 lbs, 60 is for 9,000 to 13,000 lbs, etc. The lower horsepower ratings keep the EGTs lower, which is necessary for pulling the extra weight.

As for performance, my 0-60 time in the stock tune is around 15 seconds. In my 80e tune I can do it in around 10 seconds.

I would just get the 120 tune and all it a day... But you should know if your hpop is tired or weak you would get better performance with a lower hp tune because the hpop won't be able to supply the demands from the higher hp tunes.
1/4 times with an 8000 pound truck... Mostly stock..... Hahaha.... Sllloooowww lol

Nick, I will be in Modesto getting my truck live tuned this weekend, if you get a chance anytime, hit me up, you are more than welcome to run through the hp settings on my truck and see what you think. I have 60t, 80e and 120 race right now, will have a few more after Sunday.

I'm in Dixon, can't remember exactly where you are, but if I remember right, not too far.

Again, we're faced with nomenclature problems.

Flash Programmers, as you pointed out, are not able to be "switched" on the fly. However, flash programmers do every bit of the same type of "tuning" that [what people consider] "custom tuners" do. Flash programmers do not fool inputs or mask sensor data. They cause the PCM to make altered output adjustments based on input signals - just like a chip does.

The other product (to which you so cleverly alluded) is NOT a flash programmer, a chip, or [are you really going to make me say it??] tuner. It is an inline module that DOES fool a PCM input. It's nothing more than a variable resistor that alters the signal going to the PCM from the injection control pressure sensor.

Fortunately, I can use my crystal ball to foresee that any calibration above 80 HP for most of these trucks will cause issues with the high pressure oil pump. It has little to do with the high pressure oil pump being "tired" or "weak". It has EVERYTHING to do with the injector pulse width being excessive JUST to get the appropriate amount of fuel into the cylinder that will create an additional 80 horsepower.

ON EDIT:

Don't worry. My seemingly never-ending series of diatribes will be ending within a mere 15 or so posts. Don't get too used to my "mood".

When I had these toons, it was full on drive-by-pyro towing 10k lbs in 60tow with any kind of elevation change. I had him add a 40tow 'high altitude', but still had to take my foot out of it and/or switch to 'stock' on long, steep grades. With current tunes (everything else is the same), I can pull grades like Vail Pass at WOT even with 22k lbs GCVW in 60HP and never break 1200* - the speed limit is another story... I have even towed in current 100HP tune and struggle to put EGT's in the red (but burned a LOT of fuel!!!).

Like was mentioned earlier, 120/140HP are just smoke toons and I could redline EGT's between stoplights even in 100 toon. Not to mention the trucks smoked, would not maintain ICP and they were LOUD as hell. Both my engines failed after 100k miles with these toons (mostly 60t in F350 and 80e in X).

I hate to be a dark cloud, but not everyone has had good experiences... Some tuners offer a 30day money-back guarantee. Good luck!!

Edited: Cleatus beat me to the submit button...

I'm by Roseville, but will be pulling loads to Modesto and Sac till Christmas, starting in a week lol, so a bit late there. You ever come up to sac or Roseville send me a PM ill do same if in heading towards Dixon

I'm likely set on a 80E, 80T and still can't decide between 100 or 120, I'll only use performance tune for fun couple times a month so I just might be good with a 120, but I still want to be on the "reliable" side

I can see where my sentence structure could be taken to mean programmers trick inputs. I didn't know what to call the other products. Is there a word (other than cussing) for the products that trick inputs?

Hijack!!!

Cant PM you DP-Tuner, but I have noticed an increased level of activity on the forum lately from you guys providing customer service, undoubtedly related to the release of your new product.

This is a VERY important quality to me when I am recommending companies to people. Ease of access and participation in discussion is right at the top of my list. Kudos.

Carry on.

Thanks Trey! Your comments are very much appreciated.

As our business has grown it has been more difficult to be active on the forums. However, the relationships we have created here are like any other investment. You have to take time for your investments.

My PM's are off at the moment until I get caught up on emails.

Just a heads up I had a programmer , and then I switched to DP tuner. There is nothing worst then pulling over before hitting the mountain, and climbing out hooking up your programmer to your PCM on the side of the road. Then start driving again. Then having to repeat it all over again after you get over the pass. After doing this 4 times going over two mountains passes on the same day I order the DP that day. You get what you pay for. Just something else to remember if you thing your going to need it in the future get it(F5). I added a winch to my truck and then I had to add 1500 RPM. If you get DP F6 then they can send you tunes without having to send in your tuner.

F350 E99 CC 4X4 DWR 7.3 4in straight pipe, dp (F5) stock, 60T, 80E, Drivethru, 120, and 1500 RPM

good way to go, if I could have swung the cash at the time, I would have gotten the f6 instead of the f5... however, after tomorrow, I don't think I'll be needing any new tunes

Offer is still good if we can meet up some time, you are welcome to try out my tunes to get a feel for them. Of course, with the f6, I believe you can try out tunes before you buy them... good for 10 key starts or something.
