I am getting ready to purchase a Microtuner for my V-10 and have a couple of questions before I buy. I have a 1999 E350 Superduty van and pull a 10,000# camper. We travel 3-4 times per year pulling the camper. I would not mind using the 93 octane gas while on a trip because the extra performance would be worth it. What I don’t want to do is use 93 octane around home while Mom uses the van as a family taxi. We already have all of the power we need for that. I am wondering about programming for the 93 octane on my last fill up before I leave home and going back to stock when I get home.
So here are my questions:
1) Can I go back to the stock program when I get back from my trip?
2) Are there any problems associated with reprogramming a chip several times per year?
Another option would be one of the Diablo multi-program chips but I like the idea of the Microtuner better. I will, of course, be buying from Ken…

1) yes
2) none I have ever heard of; you should be just fine w/ this approach (though some of the computer's "learned" engine mgmnt features may have to re-learn each time you go back
and forth)
I just had to return a Hypertech power programmer lll to Summit Racing because it will not work on a van (2001 E-350 6.8L V-10). So far I am unable to find any tuners or chips that will work with a van. It seems that the van ECM has programming that is incompatable with the products out there. Should you be able to obtain something that works please post it here. Thanks!
The Microtuner 1715 should work fine for your van. Per Superchips: "Part #1715; is designed to be used on, F-150, F-250, F-350 trucks, E-150, E-250 and E-350".
