Hey Guys
I have a 2000 Ex , I also have 3 out of 5 dool locks gone bad. I went to FORD.com and E-mailed they about the problem ( get this they replyed by phone ) they said there was not enough problems to justify fixing mine but told me to let the dealer fix it then if they do a recall they will reenburse me .So guys go and E-mail these folks. The dealer said they would get in touch with FORD about this. Said they might fix it at a reduced price. CANT BELIVE THIS !
The dog is in Tennessee now and missing Alabama. I have had 4 other ford trucks in the past 12 years and no problems with door locks heck I cant even open the drivers door with key from outside if it is unlockes iI can open it but if it is locked it must be unlocked from inside
had a similar problem on a 2000 SD. What do you mean by the door locks went bad? do they look as if they were trying to unlock but dont have the power? Do they do anything at all when you press unlock? I have heard of several SD's..including my fathers 2000 it was the lock actuators that went out, no the dealer didn't fix under warranty or anything.. might of been past it's date but they arn't too expensive and fixed the problem. good luck
your right that isnt enough info is it . Yees they act like they want to work ( move a little ) and make a sound like a sound effect for a Si Fi movie .
The rear passenger door lock crapped out on my 2000 Ex. It still locks manually but i can't get it to move when useing the buttons. Blargh another thing to fix.
Three out of four of the door lock actuators failed within a month of each other on my 2001 Excursion. Fortunately they were replaced under warranty. This has been a recurring issue on the forums on other sites with the Excursion and Super Duty's. I contacted NHSTA regarding a potential recall and was told that since the doors can be opened in an emeregncy by pulling on the inside handle, it's not a safety issue so they weren't really interested.
My front driver side door is now sticking. We have been having a heat spell this week and I noticed the door is worse with the warm weather. Anyone else have the same problem? Oh on the last post, if you have the child lock switched on, the back door will not open, only from the outside if the door is not locked.
I E-mailed FORD and got a call back the next day ( wife got the call )and they said there wasnt enough info or problems to do a recall so Im tring to get everyone to E-mail them if they have or had problems with theres .
I am wondering about door locks on 99 to present Ford trucks . I am a member at Ford Fourm.com
and it seems everyone is having the problem ( locks that just don’t work ). The question is how do we get Ford to do something about this ?
Thank You

Sorry to hear about your door lock problem, I have the exact same thing... All my locks stoped working and Ford dealer charged me $521.00 to fix only the doors, it was $621.00 with the rear hatch....ouch Can you send me a link with that email address, I would like to give Ford a piece of my mind. This Ex is a POS, trans went out at 60K(not warranty) Seals leaking all over the place.
