2. The Mosler Photon
And for the record, the Photon is nuts. Almost 3 second 0-60, and with no forced induction. Imagine if they supercharged that thing, it would run 9's. It's like ZO6 minus 1000 pounds.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
About the Roush mustangs, IOwnaBaseModel is correct - they made over 1,000 of them last year, and something like 100-200 of them were the Stage 3 (which is the supercharged, 360hp model). Those numbers are for the 2002 model year - I haven't seen specs on the '03s yet. I'm assuming Roush is coming up with something "new and improved", since the SVT Cobra is actually a bit faster. One of my co-workers used to work for Roush (they're here in Michigan, in Livonia) before coming to work for my current employer.
Saleen makes a range of models - the local dealer here sells them, and has two 281s on his lot right now. The 281 isn't all that fast - certainly not as fast as a Cobra, making something like 280hp. The faster Saleen, which used to be the 351 (not sure if it still is) is quite a bit quicker - IIRC, it's something like 500hp. However, it still runs the quarter in around 12 seconds. The SR is a little bit faster (maybe 11 seconds in the quarter) but is insanely expensive (last I heard, over $150,000) and so much has been changed that it's hardly a Mustang anymore.
I'm not sure that either the Saleen or Roush mustangs count as production vehicles, though - I don't think they meet the requirements. If they count, then the places that modify Vipers and 'vettes would too - and there are packages you can buy for the Viper that bring the quarter-mile time down below 10 seconds.

Now, it is not the biggest, but I believe it was the most powerfull:
Back in 1964 Ford made 400 Thunderbolts that were outfitted with the 427 SOHC (thats right, the "Cammer").
Advertised horsepower: 620
Actual Horsepower: way more than 700
Was the fastest thing on the track (1/4 mi.) in its day. One of the rags called it 'The scourge of the dragstrip". It sent Chebby running back to the drawing board.
By the way, the exotic sports cars are not considered production cars. A production car is for the masses. If you have enough money to buy an Exotic then you have enough money to buy 2. You can donate 1 to me. LOL

I thought you guys were Ford fans. This thread looks like a Chebby commercial.

LK, you need to go ask somebody, the new Cobra makes 390 HP. The Lightning makes 360 HP. That Saleen you are talking about is almost $500,000 and is totally awesome.
BTW, from the dyno results I've seen it appears that the Cobra actually puts out more than 400hp and that Ford under-rated it a bit from the factory (which isn't a big surprise).
Edited to add: I re-read my post, and I think I see what you're talking about. In the paragraph about the Saleen, I mention the 281 and say that it has around 280hp (I don't know exactly) - I'm talking about the Saleen 281 there, not the Cobra. Basically, what I was trying to say was that the smaller Saleen only has 280-ish horsepower and isn't nearly as fast as the Cobra. My grammar isn't the best - I'm an engineer, not a writer.

I have seen in Muscle mustang and Fast Fords magazine that they put the Cobra on a chassis dyno and it dyno'd 412 at the rear wheels. That is pretty impressive.
A herd stampedes and they all run off a cliff together. Does that mean they're right? 8.1 liters is 502 cubic inches. Nuf said end of story. Your bus was so short it only had 2 seats. One for the driver and one for you.
ROTFLMFAO!!!! How one can be so righteous and be so wrong will never cease to amaze me!!!! Like logical stated earlier, all the info is on the net.
The 502 (8.2L)was introduced around '89 and was based on the Bow Tie Mark IV block. The main advantage of the original 502 is it has siamesed cylinders for the larger bores necessary. The bore and stroke is 4.47X4.00 This is the motor I have in my boat.
The "new" 496(8.1L) has a completely different bore and stroke(4.25X4.37) and does not use the siamesed cylinders. And, of course, 502 is larger than 496.

You know, I was thinking the same thing when he said that about me. I mean, if u type in liters to Ci it will bring you to a search full of calculators sayin the same thing......hmmm....

On edit: Manufactures round their size to the nearest tenth of a liter. DUH! My bad. It's still inaccurate to try to figure ci from their posted liters
