Another no start thread

Was pulling out of the driveway and the truck shut off, wait to light comes on, tach moves when turning over, but nothing.... It doesn't start

Checked all the fuses but it just turns over

Fuel comes out the shrader valve but don't know what the pressure is there? What's it supposed to be?

Any thoughts?!

Does this truck have a chip on it? If so, take the chip out and try to start it. Is there any smoke while cranking?

Fuel pressure should be 40-70 depending on if it's shimmed or not, but I would think anything over 20psi it will start. Mine has run without a fuel pump before, but I have bigger injectors. I doubt stock injectors will run without a pump.

First things I would do if all your fuses are good...

-unplug ICP sensor and try to start it
-check oil level in crankcase
-check the tin nut on the back of the IPR
-Try a CPS. It's cheap, easy, and most people should carry a spare anyways.
-Check fuel pressure
-Check ICP while cranking. A mechanical pressure gauge can be built for around $60-80.
-Pull IDM and shake it to see if water is it in, possibly try another one if you know anyone who has one you can borrow for 5 minutes.

Treed by Darin. Forgot about that link. That's a good link.

I did pull the fuel filter and its DISCUSTING. I'm buying a new one tomorrow and going to see if that does it. If not then I'll go through that check list.

Well the truck had was new to me not to long ago and I had done all sorts of maintenance work to it and have only towed with it a few times. I had kept forgetting to grab a fuel filter and change that and sure enough... changed the fuel filter and she came back to life!

Also got my dana 60 under it tonight! I ended up going with the 350 springs up front and trying the 250 blocks in the back. Its BARELY higher in the front. So it looks like I'll be swapping the blocks in the rear next weekend. But besides that its awesome!

Isnt it funny how the tiniest most basic thing can affect these things in such a great way!?

Makes me wonder how some people get by on little to no maintenance and get lucky it keeps running at all.

Glad ya got er goin! and got the D60 under it! They are much easier when it comes to lifting... they dont break as many things as the split front the 250s came with.

I know! I dont get it either. I have a buddy with a truck like that.. just beats the bag out of it and it barely starts but it keeps going and going...

I wont be lifting this truck tho. My jeeps are lifted. This is the pulling rig so 33's will be fine to keep road manners nice haha.
