Shaving gas cap

My buddies excursion has a shaved gas door, and the filler neck was relocated to the wheel well. Doesn't work too well since the filler neck is like level so the gas is hard to get through there into the tank. Considering on mine just putting the filler inside behind where the spare tire was. Like basically right behind where it is stock, just facing the interior, and not the outside. Any ideas if this would work? Not concerned with the smell of gas before anyone mentions it lol.

Just don't light up a cigarette or whatever you're smoking back there.

BTW, wouldn't it suck to have to open your hatch and barn doors every time you fill up?

Just don't rub your wool sweater and try to shock your buddy next you...

This may not be the safest idea. Regardless of whether you "don't mind" the smell of gas, that's just not a good idea.

Not trying to pee on your parade, just want you to be safe.

Best,
Karl

making the taillight into a door would be a much easier and safer option.

The taillights are getting shaved too Russ lol.

There's really no where else to relocate it other than there. Any other ideas?

Like inside is stupid you would never be able to sell it. Unless like you found someone who liked it that way. But likely a small group

Shaving means to get rid of the gas lid. weld in a filler piece and paint over it so it Looks like it was never there. Ever seen cars without door handles? Same thing.

And I don't care about resale... I bought my excursion for me, , I don't care about that stuff because I don't plan on selling lol

Forget selling it, how about registering it? There are places where it has to be inspected and pass certification standards. Of course that never will be needed after the explosion and fire!

What about like hiding it somewhere on the rear bumper? Like making it look like a ball mount or something?
