I browsed and right near the bottom I seen that it was last updated in 2008? I wonder if the information is the same, or if manufacturers of some of these filters have changed things around in the past 5 ish years?
I use donaldson, just due to how cheap I get them for.

Good point, and good question. Time for an update!
The couple times that I used a Fram filter on a Powerstroke it would keep coming loose and leaking. A few others have had the same issues.
I say don't use em, they are junk! Motorcraft for me.
I use motorcraft, there are other acceptable brands. Fram is NOT one of them. Fram is (IMO) one of the worst filters on the market, and many people agree.
I have blown engines with Fram filters! It actually collapsed within and sucked into the oil pump. I run motorcraft, If you look on E bay sometimes you can pick up cases of 8 for 65.00
I don't think so. I've always used the Motorcraft FL-1995 filter that costs around $10. Here's a link to the thread when I had Blackstone laboratories do an analysis on my used motor oil to help determine how the engine was holding up using the oil and filters I typically use.
You can read their comments on the report from when my truck just turned 400,000 miles. They don't seem to be concerned with my oil filter choice, but I don't know how many more miles you're trying to get out of your engine than me. Myself, I'll just stick with the Motorcraft filter.
