Q, No idea on the Mercedes, never heard of it being used so the likelyhood is not good. Not that if I didn't hear of it is the ultimate deciding factor, just means it's not something very common/I don't have any info on it. Same with the steering box. Pumps are a dime a dozen, but do come in different pressures, so it's best to wait until you decide on what you are going to use before looking at finding a suitable pump. Didn't your engine come with a PS pump?

the 4.6 duz hve the pump and all the other goodies that come with a full dressed pull. i was thinking that all the steering & suspension components, that wud come from some other type car or truck, that worked together shud stay together. just trying to simplify. did you see my buzz about looking for a styrofoam or = mock up of the 4.6 and aod from the lincoln'so i cud easily put it in and out of position for clearance purposes.? can't see swinging that monster in and out on cherry picker !! but i will if i have to.

I think the mod motor will need to become a lot more popular for swaps and racing before someone makes a foam dummy of it. The 4.6 4V is physically large, but being all aluminum it isn't all that heavy, similar to a cast iron 302. A HD Cherry picker (their capacity is rated with the boom fully retracted, the 1.5T lightweight unit should not be used to pull and engine and tranny combo if the boom needs to be extended any, they are not strong enough and may collapse. NEVER work under an engine supported on a cherry picker no matter the capacity.), the front clip removed, a removable center tranny mount crossmember, and one of these:

can ease in positioning the engine.
