Mustang II

How well would an original Mustang II front suspension fit in a '51 M-3? I can get a '76 Mustang II Cobra II with 302 and auto for $350. I think I might you the engine, transmission and front suspension. Has anyone done a swap like this? Any comments apreciated.

Thanks
Nathan

I would buy an aftermarket crossmember ($300-450) and use the components from the Mustang II. The crossmember will be engineered for your truck and should fit a lot better than trying to modify the old crossmember. By buying the car, you will get everything instead having to piece together something from a dozen junkyard trips.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Oct-02 AT 02:11 PM (EST)]I agree... buy the aftermarket crossmember... the original crossmembers are not the best for reuse... for about 350 you can have a well built unit and use your stock pieces to build you front suspension...

The guy said the engine has a rattle by the oil pan so I won't buy the car.
