Ok, so I purchased a 68 halfcab, 289, 3sp floor shifter with twein stick transfer case shifter. VERY low amount of rust. Cut fenders. other than that a stock tob and bulkhead steel originals. I need to decide if I should use it as a donor truck for my 68 halfcab or sell it to someone looking for a usable Bronco. This one won't take much be be brought back to life. She runs and drives. Let me know your thoughts! heres a couple of pics will add more when it is in the shop.
help deciding........
is all ways an invetation to stick my head in the lion's mouth...
I'm not sure Y U bought it, what u wanted it for, or Y it's not (or if it is) filling that purpose.
One thing I CAN say is it's desirable (yr, motor, etc) for the restorers. For details go to the specalists - roadstersU13.com. U may B some 1 like me - interested in gathering all the info possible (B4 any decisions). I'd say continue on w/that process there, at CB, and elsewhere.
What do U wanna do w/ur original '68? What is IT'S final application?
Sorry, your attached jpeg show #1 (XXXKB, XX views) and likewise #2 (XXKB, X views) in parentheses after the image to click on.
& ur signature has bout 8 trucks listed...
Speaking of parentheses...my full wagon top had pushed the sides out so bad (just by it's weight and vibrations) over the yrs. that viewing the rig from behind had an out line shaped like a parentheses i.e. the bed rails and top's sides were pushed out at the 'equator' (where both meet). What keeps your tool boxes from banging against the bed sides or otherwise making it splay out like a V?
Sorry about the pic attachment issues, I do not know whats up with that??? I see them just fine. As far a pic and sig list, I lined just the old ones up and a few parts rigs got in there.
The Ranger was in town with the wife, and the Expedition is on the end under the car port, and the tail end of the Dodge is in there too.
The tool boxes are setting on the inner fenderwells/bed floor and I mounted them with a bracket on the front end. And they are hard mounted on the back outer sides.
"... add more when it is in the shop."
You get it to the shop yet? review our comments?
I think I'm gettin edu-ma-cated as I go along here. The number in "views" is changing - so it may indicate how many have clicked on ur pic. I thought it might B "how many pic in this link".
Also - sounds like there is no concern about weight against the side boards over the years? I'm thinking these rigs (any similar design like a p/u) don't have much reinforcement and remember an old '76 F100 (w/the NP435 we used to hay with) had to B kept together with a strap holding the L&R bed rails together (across the tailgate). They eventually flopped outwards w/o that...
