I have the ones from LMC and after 7 months the doors still don't close. I was told Steelrubber made better products.

Wow those are stiff if that last picture is as far as it will close. When mine were new if i put a shoulder to the door it would close. After setting awhile, now the doors close nice.
Now quit teasing and show some pictures of the whole truck inside and out! From what is shown it looks great.

Wow, those sure are some stiff seals. Don'y know if they will settle that much. What about a little heat like a blow dryer to soften them and closing tight? Just a random thought. Your truck sure looks clean. good to see the radio in there. They really add to the look!

I see potential for the passenger door closing all the way. But I don't know about the drivers door. I might actually try the hair dryer once worth a try I guess.

It should be clean the paint is only a month and a half old on the cab/doors/hood/and fenders and about 3 weeks old on the box. I am still waiting in a tailgate and wheels. I went out of the way to get that radio in the dash. I had the dash on this cab patched from my old cab so I could hang that radio.

Well worth the effort in my view!

Blaine; I'm not sure how I missed your project thread!
But your truck looks great, I'm partial to the two tone blue/white.

My dad isn't much of a fan of the blue either but he really likes the white. For me I have pictured this blue in my mind for the last 2 years. As for the white the paint guy mixed it up and suggested it to me and I really like it. From even 2 feet away you don't notice the pearl effect but you put your nose up to it you see it. I didn't want a really sparkly white but something that complimented the metalic blue, and this white does just that. The above picture of the radio shows a little of the pearl effect.

Here are a few pictures of the doors today. I slid the strikers all the way forward and warmed up the seals at the thick part and gave the door a good hard slam and I got 2 clicks on both doors I could push all I could but couldn't get 2 clicks.

Thanks for the radio closeup. It has been dry here for this time of year so I took the '60 to work today, got to listen to AM radio to and from. Not an IPOD in sight! Priceless!

I've been watching this thread for awhile with interest as I had a similar problem but it was on my '56 and I don't know who made the door seals. I lived with them for 8 years; kept adjusting the latch mechanisms to pull the doors in and the force of the seals would pull them back out! That thick, solid area at the front of the door never did soften or settle in. Finally I saw that Mid-Fifties was selling hollow door seals because of this problem so I picked some up and installed them. Now my doors fit like they should've all along. I didn't chime in because it's not a fridge but it might be worthwhile finding out from them who produce's those seals.
Just sayin'.

Mine are from Dennis Carpenter and they worked great. A little snug at first, nothing like you have in the pictures and within a week the doors shut fine and have ever since. They always advertised that their seals were the best on the market and now I am apt to believe them.

So I wanted to ask those of you who have the Dennis Carpenter Seals in your door are you able to actually adjust the striker?

Because I am not seeing these LMC seals to settle in at all. I am seriously considering on redoing the doors seals and buying Dennis Carpenter.

I am not sure how the seal impacts the striker plate adjustment, but I have no problems making any adjustments. You might consider calling Dennis Carpenter and telling them the issues you are having and ask them if their seals will be better.
