Clutch Pedal up near dashboard
Hello FTE Menbers: Asking for serious help my clutch pedal is up near the bottom of the dashboard and I'm wondering what happened I felt it make a noise and then the pedal popped up under the dashboard I've never experienced this before can anyone help me figure out what to do? I know the pushrod came loose from the clutch pedal and it is very difficult to reattach I will probaly need to take the fuse block out to access it. Has anyone ever had this problem before? I own a Ford F-250 Super Duty 1999 I always work on my own vehicle but this has me stumped?

The rod has come loose out of the clutch master cylinder. You're better off replacing it or it will continue to happen since it's a snap together part. If you don't want to mess with trying to bleed the clutch hydraulics, you can buy a pre-bled system. Or just replace the master and bleed the air out.
The Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) switch sits on that rod that goes between the clutch pedal and the master. There is a U shaped clip that goes from front to back on the CPP. Remove the clip by prying it open and then the switch will slide off the rod. Look inside there. If either of the two long springs are broken, or look like several stacked springs, replace the switch too.
The clutch master snaps into the firewall by a twist lock. Just give it a 1/4 turn and it will come out of the firewall. Same goes for the master down in the bell housing if you replace the whole thing.
Rock Auto has some good prices on the parts you'll need. If you order from Ford, make sure the clutch master comes with a new rod. Ford will often sell the rod separate.
