I really like the stance it gives the trucks we've gt 2" our lightning ad it's looks sweet!! I think it gives it a better turn in
In that case no. The purpose of spacers is to clear wider tires without buying new rims. Basically a cheater way of clearing the frame. They are not very safe like mentioned before, they generally are pretty cheaply made and if your putting them on for a suspension/steering/handling "upgrade", go ahead and find the nearest tree and run into it. Overall they really have no place for a performance application, more as a last ditch effort to clear wider tires. And a 2" spacer is just ridiculous and dangerous...
i too am considering spacers for my rear dual wheels so i can run wider tires than the 235/85/16 tires i have now
don't do it.
your cab n chassis already runs wider tires than stock 2wd dually pickups.
if you run wider tires your traction and fuel economy will go down.something you don't need with a 460 im sure.
if anything, you might want to consider 215's which came on the dually pickups.
i am looking a an agressive tread 265/75/16 on all 6 since mine is a 4x4
Don't know if you saw Brad's build thread on his latest project, but he put a set of spacers on that truck, you might ask him where he got his from.
I know I'm damn glad my truck has 235/85s on it vs the 215/85s it came from the factory with after the hell of a storm we just had here. Took almost 3 days before the plows could even make it under the trees to scrape the some of the roads off, the local mine brought out their grader & a dozer to clear the hardtop and plow through the trees after about a day and a half just so their guys could get into work.
Had to use my truck to make a path just so a few of my neighbors could even get in or out of their driveways to go get fuel for their generators. None of theirs had the right mix of weight & height to get anywhere without alittle help. I hear all the time about how wider tires are terrible in snow, but let me tell you thats the complete opposite of my experience over the years, IMO can't beat a nice wide MT tire in the snow even on a 1/2ton.
anybody know what a sufficianct size spacer would be good for a 31-10.5-15 on a stock alloy rims that have the rivet style. they are already deeper dished than the steel wheels but they alloy rims are factor too but the tires still rubb and i dont wanna break anything.
actually im goin for a taller tire but i have to go wider to go taller
Maybe you mistyped the size you're after or just didn't know but a 265/75 and a 235/85 are the same height, if you want a taller tire you'll have to go bigger than that.

What you need is a different set of wheels with a different backspacing, you shouldn't use spacers for that reason.
The only acceptable use for spacers IMO is on the rear of a dually for wider tires.
i thought the 265/75 was about an inch taller than the 235/85, guess i was wrong. hey maybe go with the 265/75 up front and stay with the 235/85 in the rear?
