Ignition collar fix?

Ignition collar fix?
I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but most of the fords I've ever been in at this age have this issue where the collar on the ignition will free spin on the lock.
I took mine out, but I cannot see any way to fix it at all.
I dont want to swap mine out either because mine is old enough where i can pull the key with it engaged. Something that should be standard if you ask me, but if you try and turn the truck off, you dick everything up.

Here is my conclusion.
Being that its pot metal, it will be hard to stipple.
The part is pressed on to the collar and eventually friction wears it out.
If you try and glue it and do it wrong, you'll mess up the lock.
If you can figure out how to stipple it, you'll make it work.
Let me see if I can take some pictures.

okay, got a picture of it, but I'm also cleaning and lubricating the steering wheel here also, so i'll post it up later. I'm just going to leave it and not try and mess with it honestly.

Yeah, but the whole "pull the key out" while its on will be in effect again.
I pull my key out all the time and lock the truck and go into stores.

I see you point for having it like that i just didnt know if that would fix my prob. Can you get a new ignition that will still use the same key as the door lock? Have you thought about keyless entry?
