Without taking the current cd changer out, is there any way to find out the part number of the unit?
2003 Expedition EB 5.4L
Assembled in April-May 2002 (very early model, took delivery in June 2002)
According to the owners manuals, it is the Audiophile AM/FM stereo in dash six cd radio, with the DSP button (it also has the subwoofer). It is NOT the premium with the COMP button and there is no rear DVD player.
The cd player has died and I need to replace the unit. I want to make sure the unit I buy is the same as the unit in there now. I have seen the same face plate with 2 different part numbers and need to be sure.
I have one that I am pulling out of my 2001 Navi. It was working before I pulled the radio out and installed a radio navigation system with satellite radio. The new unit will take a I pod..no CDs needed...leave them at home
Nope, it's all guesswork until you actually read the part number.
That is what I thought after searching through other threads. There are "supposedly" about 6 different changers that were used and some are not interchangeable.
