There is no change in performance/driveability. Any claims to MPG gains from this t-stat would be suspect to me.....

I agree, I did the same when I owned my truck that was a VO burner .
didn't really notice anything.
condidering on my Van, but not running VO and wont be for some time.
so the jury is still out on that.
I guess you can make an excuse to get one is if you come to the opportunity when you already changeing and replaceing the current one.

a dollar cheaper. and when I did mine I did the housing too. worked well on install. cause then you get new bolts
